Dear Ohio – Animated PSA

I directed, co-wrote, and edited this PSA for Ohio Citizen Action as part of my undergraduate coursework. I also assembled and animated the assets in After Effects, excluding the airplane (animated by Matthew England) and the hand-drawn animation at the end (animated by David Bloom). Assets were made by David Bloom, Matthew England, and myself.

Hand – Rotoscope Animation Sample

As part of my graduate coursework, I completed this rotoscoped animation which explores principles of haptic cinema and the intersection of 2D and 3D spaces.

2000's Girl – Collage Animation Sample

As part of my graduate coursework, I completed this collage animation in After Effects. Through an autobiographical lens, "2000's Girl" explores how children conceptualize the adult concepts that they are exposed to through media, particularly concepts of sexuality and politics..

Meet Marisa

Hello! I’m Marisa. I have a BFA in Digital Art from Bowling Green State University and an MA in Media Studies from The New School. My work spans several mediums including digital painting, animation, graphic design, and illustration. I am well versed in the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. I am passionate about children’s media and picture books. In my free time, I make my own pizza dough and crush the daily NYT word games.
